A45 Mercedes AMG, the future rooster

A45 Mercedes AMG

If only a couple of days talked about the new engines that will launch the Mercedes A-Class, booked this space today to discuss its most powerful, the A45 Class Mercedes AMG, future rival of the premium compact market more performance as the M135i BMW or Audi RS3.

After it had been caught one of these Mercedes, brand germaa confirmed and the first details of the model. The first and most important, their name, A45 AMG (it was rumored that AMG would call A25). Also other mechanical details, such as an evolution which will block four-cylinder two-liter turbo mounted on the A250, with which will yield 335 hp and will have a torque of 400 Nm. Mount a dual-clutch seven-speed and AWD (though to be supplied in greater proportion to the rear axle) with electronic Haldex center differential.

The new Mercedes AMG Class A45 will also feature a sportier suspension, three levels to set the entry into action of the ESP, a touch sportier steering, better brakes … and specific aesthetic details such as AMG wheels or body kit. Could reach European markets in early 2013, so it would not be unreasonable to see how it is presented at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. Of course, we’re imagining a comparison circuit of these three German princes of power:

Mercedes Clase A 45 AMG

BMW M135i: engine six-cylinder 3 liter. Power 320 hp at 5,800 rpm that leave us with a couple of 450 Nm available between 1,300 rpm and 4,500 rpm. It has the option of XDrive all-wheel drive to cope with the alternatives of Mercedes and Audi. Mark on the scale needed only 1,611 kilos and 4.7 seconds to reach 100 km/h.

Audi RS3: Engine 2.5-liter five-cylinder, four-wheel drive and automatic double-clutch seven-speed. Power 340 hp and maximum torque of 450 Nm available from very low revs at around 1,600 rpm and remains constant up to 5,300 rpm. It weighs 1,675 kilos, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.

Mercedes AMG Class A45: Engine four-cylinder two-liter turbo. Power of 335 hp between the two rivals, but less torque than the BMW and Audi, 400 Nm . Hopefully more data arrive!
