The diesel version of the Volkswagen Beetle has gone through the hands of ABT Sportline to receive mechanical and aesthetic touches that enhance its sportiness. Through electronic reprogramming the ECU, ABT extracted 30 hp and 50 Nm extra torque of the 2.0 TDI.
The German specialist ABT Sportsline has released a new development that affects the Volkswagen Beetle TDI. ABT offers package changes in appearance and increased power and torque for mechanical single turbo retro Volkswagen model.
ABT has decided to give it a more aggressive appearance to the body of the Beetle and has chosen to offer a new front bumper, a rear spoiler, headlight tabs and exhaust system with oval double output. The customer can choose from several designs of alloy wheels, with sizes ranging from 18 to 20 inches.
Inside the changes are lighter because they are seen only in the new pads and gear shift knob that combines aluminum and leather. In any event, the preparation of Beetle TDI is much more discreet than that of model gasoline by ABT months ago.
The 140 horsepower offered by the 2.0 TDI has been an increase after reprogramming electronic control unit, reaching the 170 hp. The maximum torque of 320 Nm also happens to 370 Nm. A more powerful mechanical means a more powerful braking system on the front axle and suspension improved by means of new docks signed by ABT.
