Audi, new sponsor of Chelsea

Audi will be the new sponsor of Chelsea. This was confirmed by the British subsidiary of the automobile brand on the eve of the Champions League final held last Saturday. The sponsorship will run the next three years. With this agreement, Chelsea joins the list of teams already are sponsored by the German: Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan and Bayern Munich. The agreement between Audi and Chelsea closed on the eve of the London club were crowned champions of the Champions League.

The London team is considered the fifth largest in the world in number of followers. Their stadium, Stamford Bridge, will have the omnipresence of the Audi brand for home games, including the distinctive bench seats. Martin Sander, director of Audi UK, commented on this sponsorship, “The Chelsea offers a wide range of opportunities in the future, and our brands are well aligned in terms of innovation and progress. Its high-performance approach Science in Sports agrees with our philosophy”.

Meanwhile, Ron Gourlay, Chelsea chief executive, said that “it is wonderful for the team to sign this agreement with a ‘premium’ as Audi, known for its excellent record on circuits and is in the elite performance of manufacture. It is a great partner for us as it is one of the most successful brands in the world, and we look forward to working closely with them”.

Finally, Peter Schwarzenbauer, member of the Board of Management for Marketing and Sales of the brand, added on the agreement of sponsorship between Audi and Chelsea that “We would warmly welcome Chelsea to the family Audi in football. With more 100 years of history, millions of fans around the world and numerous trophies, the club is one of the best teams in international football.”

It seems that lately, Audi is giving luck to the teams they sponsor. If this weekend celebrated the victory in the Champions League of the British fleet, a few weeks ago also joined Real Madrid in celebrating the league title.
