Audi RS5 Pikes Peak

In this sense, today we write about Audi, which has released a first teaser of the RS5 will try to beat the record climb in the next edition. The reason why Audi has decided to participate in this event is that in 2012 met 25 years since legendary German driver Walter Rohl reached the mountaintop with an original Audi Quattro Sport S1, marking the fastest time on track earth. Later the road was paved and Pikes Peak time Rohl was recorded in the annals of history.

Now, to celebrate this feat, Audi plans to reunite Walter Rohl and S1. But that is not all that the German automaker has planned for this year on its website Facebook U.S. subsidiary unveiled an image of a prototype based on RS5, specially prepared to climb the famous mountain.

For now, we only have the first image of the model. As you know all those who are close to the house of the four rings, the RS5 is the top version of the A5, which equips a 4.2-liter V8 capable of developing 444 horsepower. However, since in the climb to Pikes Peak there is a category that has no mechanical limitations, it is a good news that Audi engineers show what they are able to develop this unique opportunity.

The climb to the mountain will take place next Sunday August 12.
