Audi will be the new sponsor of Chelsea. This was confirmed by the British subsidiary of the automobile brand on the eve of the Champions League final held last Saturday. The sponsorship will run the next three years. With this agreement, Chelsea joins the list of teams already are sponsored by the German: Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan and Bayern Munich. The agreement between Audi and Chelsea closed on the eve of the London club were crowned champions of the Champions League.
The London team is considered the fifth largest in the world in number of followers. Their stadium, Stamford Bridge, will have the omnipresence of the Audi brand for home games, including the distinctive bench seats. Martin Sander, director of Audi UK, commented on this sponsorship, “The Chelsea offers a wide range of opportunities in the future, and our brands are well aligned in terms of innovation and progress.
